This picture shows the prototype LED lighting system set up on top of the propagator. It contains a mixture of 'cold white' and 'warm white' LED lamps using just over 10Watts of input power, the equivalent of 50Watts if i were using incandescent bulbs. The lamps are connected up to a 12V DC power supply.
Before lights installed..... The tomato seedlings were falling over and tangling with one another as they bent over towards the sun as it is still quite low in the sky at this time of year. I decided to press my LED lighting system prototype into service. I set it up on top of the propagator in late afternoon and left it to do its job. | And after the lights were installed..... Just 8 hours later and there has been a huge improvement in the shape of the tomato seedlings. They are all now pointing straight up to the light above and no longer tangled. It is amazing what changes have occurred in such a short space of time. |
