Photographs of the front garden in 2018 showing the progress from planting through the early summer until mid summer when the plants were reaching their peak.
Sadly a storm in mid July destroyed the beautiful display of roses that had developed and about 75% of the rose blooms were destroyed. The long period of hot dry weather in June and July put the grass under a lot of stress and it became very patchy. The upside of this was that the grass was cut very few times over the summer making less work and more time to enjoy the view!

These pictures were taken in late September and early October 2018. With the mild autumn weather the plants still have a great deal of life and colour in them. Some of the French Marigolds had grown very tall and spread so when the storm of early September hit they were bent over putting a kink into the main stem. Fortunately the stems did not snap so i was able to support them with hidden bamboo canes and garden twine.
Unfortunately a short cold spell of overnight frost destoyed the begonia's overnight turning them to mush! They did not go to waste, they were used in the compost bin.
