Background
Due to illness in the spring of 2019 i was unable to grow the variety of plants i had planned for so what i have lacked in variety this year has been compensated for with quantity, particularly the Begonia 'Tom Foolery' plants. The seedlings developed well and i was able to plant some of the borders in the first couple of weeks of May. Unfortunately late May and almost all of June this year were not good so development of these plants was slow compared to those still in the greenhouse at the time.
A few years ago i found some small strands of Hebe bush growing out of the base of the garden hedge. I carefully removed them and planted them in a shaded border. They grew very well and it was not until i came to transplant them a year later that i discovered they were in fact three separate bushes. I transplanted them into large pots and over the next couple of years they developed to such an extent that i did not have anywhere to store them nor did i have a place to plant them in the garden. Over the winter i took the decision to sell them and use the funds to buy garden supplies. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were sold and how happy the buyers were to be able to buy them. I currently have a couple of small Hebe bushes developing and i guess i will have to sell them in a couple of years when they have developed to a similar size.
