The planter is made from lengths of pressure treated wooden decking planks. The planter shown in these photographs is 800mm long and will allow one standard plastic planter to be placed inside allowing plenty of air to circulate around the ends, sides and base to minimise the chances of harmful mould and fungus from growing. The gaps between the sides and base in addition to allowing good airflow also allow excess water to flow out preventing damage to the plant roots and rotting of the wood. Two small mounting feet are also attached to the base to prevent water getting trapped under the base when the planter is mounted on a wall or window sill.
