Background
At this stage thirteen of the fourteen post bases had been installed. Unfortunately the fourteenth needed to be installed in the middle of where the gas cylinders currently stand! , so these need to be moved to a new location.
Moving The Gas Cylinders
The gas cylinders needed to be moved so that the foundation for the last post base could be installed. In any case the gas cylinders would have to be moved as they cannot be located under the decking. A new location had to be chosen for the cylinders, a base prepared, new gas pipes installed and the cylinders moved.
A new location was chosen for the cylinders at the other end of the caravan. I wanted to reuse/recycle as much of the current set up as possible including the base, valve and housing. The cylinders were moved off the base onto temporary supports. The base was carefully removed.
At the new location the outline of the base was marked out and cut using a lawn edging iron. The grass was then carefully removed as i planned to reuse it to fill in parts of the garden plot. The soil was carefully removed to create a level surface for the base.

A couple of spare slabs were put in place of the previous base to support the cylinders until they could be moved to the new location.
The area prepared for the base was filled with 1 inch of sand which was compacted and leveled. The base, the original 900mm x 600mm slab was put in place so that there was a slight incline to allow water to run off the base. A hole was dug for a support post to be installed. The pole was left over from a fencing repair project so i decided to recycle it here. The gas cylinder valve and housing will be mounted on this pole.

There was a delay getting the gas cylinders moved due to the lack of available qualified personnel to do the work. There was still one post base to be installed and i did not want to wait any longer to install it as i had to wait seven days for the concrete to set properly before putting it under any stress. I decided to go ahead with the last post base working around the cylinders.
I managed to carefully rearrange the position of the cylinders so that the last post base could be constructed. It only took a few hours to complete and thankfully the weather stayed fine. The post base was covered with polythene for a few days to protect it from rain while it fully set.

The gas cylinders were finally moved on 26th May 2015 by a local company. A new changeover valve, connecting hoses and pipework were installed. Unfortunately the valve housing i made for the original valve will have to be modified as the new valve is larger than the old one.
