As the first frosts have arrived all the begonias are finished for the season and it is time to harvest the tubers. As each pot or planter faded, they were moved to a sheltered position and allowed to dry. The tubers were then removed from the compost which was carefully removed from around the tuber. click here for more details on how to harvest, store and germinate begonia tubers. Today the folding mechanism of the scooter port gates was installed using metal components originally intended for the building industry to hold roof and wall components together. As all the calculations had been previously completed and prototyped using wooden test pieces the installation went smoothly and with few problems. Click here for further information. The scooter port electrics installation has been started. A dual gang switched socket, bulkhead light and switch along with cabling and conduit was installed to allow the scooter to be recharged without having to lead an extension cable from the house each time it need to be charged. This went more straightforwardly than I had expected but i had spent a great deal of time designing and planning their installation. I took a great deal of care getting the dimensions as accurate as possible to ensure that they would be a good fit and cosmetically pleasing. Click here for more information on how these were constructed. A friend had broken her headphones when she dropped them. She was going to dispose of them, hopefully at a recycling centre and buy a new pair. I suggested i may be able to repair them. It was a simple, fiddly job but the the end result was very satisfying as the headphones are at least 10 years old but still had a lot of life in them. Click here for further details. |
