I recently had to repair a leaking sink drainer at my mum's caravan. I thought it would be a straight forward job, identify the make, model and spare part and order it. Unfortunately it was nothing like that at all. There were no spare parts available and it was not even possible to find a complete replacement set of pipes. I had no alternative but to make a new seal from scratch using some rubber salvaged from an old bicycle tyre inner tube! Click here for more information on this project.

A couple of years ago i constructed a large section of decking at my Mothers caravan. Unfortunately since completion the cross dowels used in the assembly of the hand rails have shown signs of serious corrosion which if allowed to continue could cause serious rotting of the wooden post they are mounted in. The metal dowels have been replaced by custom made plastic cross dowels constructed from plastic rod. Click here for more information on this project. My mother's handheld blender recently stopped working. There was little or no warning of the problem. It was a good quality unit and as it only consists of a switch, motor and blades with drive shaft the problem could not be anything too complex. Click here to read more about this project. |
