This picture was taken on 19th January showing how the vast majority of the seeds had started to germinate on the propagator and under the LED lights i developed a number of years ago.
The seedling density was much higher than i would have preferred but with careful thinning i reckoned the situation could be managed and a great crop of plants produced.
The seedlings were thinned out to 180 cell plug trays and left on the propagator under LED lights.
The seedlings developed quickly with lush green leaves and a good deep green colour.
I was able to control the production in waves, reusing each 180 cell tray to produce 7 x 24 cell trays.
To date i have managed to produce over 2,000 Begonia plants from just two propagators using the LED lights.
As the weather has improved it is becoming increasingly difficult to tell the difference between the waves of plants as the catch up with each other.
