Background
This page contains photographs of the plants in the back garden during 2014. These were the plants that were saved over the winter and were left over after the front garden, path and caravan had been planted. All of the plants seen in these pictures were grown from seed or purchased as 'plug' plants and then 'grown on' in the greenhouse before being planted out. Some of the photographs were taken at night with a flash simply to see what the effect would be.
The following plants are visible in these pictures: tuberous Begonia's, fibrous Begonia's, Petunias, French Marigolds(various), Geraniums(various), Fuchsia(various), Impatiens, Dahlias(various). The Geraniums were saved from previous years over the winter in the greenhouse. The Dahlia's were grown from a mixture of seed and a few tubers saved from 2013. The Impatiens were grown from plugs. The tuberous Begonias were grown from tubers that had been saved from the previous three years. The Fuchsia's were saved in the greenhouse over the past couple of years together with a few plug plants that were purchased from a discount supermarket as an experiment.....a very successful one as it turned out. These fuchsia are shown in the banner photograph on this page. The fibrous Begonias were grown from purchased seed as were the French Marigolds. In all over 2500 plants were produced.
