The lighting system uses plastic pipe and plumbing parts to house the LED lights/bulbs. It is readily available, low cost, robust and can be shaped into all sorts of configurations. As i had supplied my other systems to clients i had to make do with this temporary prototype one i had lying about.
This is a view of the top of the propagator with the lights pointed down onto the seed trays.
I am hoping that the light shining directly onto the tomato plants will help then straighten up as they keep heading to the sun which is still quite low in the sky during the day. Even turning the tray a couple of times a day does not stop them turning round. The tomato seedlings, given plenty of water develop very quickly.
The light is also set over the aubergine seedlings which are already doing quite well and the begonias which i hope will develop a little quicker with the lights in place.
